Hayao Miyazaki is my all-time favorite filmmaker. I also like other Studio Ghibli films, Studio 4°C, Disney, Satoshi Kon, Don Bluthe, Monty Python, Stanley Kubrick, Wes Anderson, and Quentin Tarantino.

Howl's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service, The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Amelie, Arashi no Yoru Ni, Stand By Me, The Plague Dogs, The Last Unicorn, Unico, The Secret of NIMH, The Royal Tenenbaums, Bambi, The Lion King, Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis, Edward Scissorhands, Labyrinth, The Wizard of Oz, Zoolander

And I'm sticking TV shows here too: Lost, Avatar, South Park, Firefly, Buffy, Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Kids in the Hall, The X-Files, Adult Swim.

And lots and lots of anime, some favorites are: FLCL, Cardcaptor Sakura, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Paranoia Agent, Cowboy Bebop, Eureka Seven, Honey & Clover, Princess Tutu, Planetes, Ouran Koukou Host Club.

Indie rock/indie pop, alternative, classical. I love stuff that's melodic, thoughtful, clever and/or funny and dislike stuff that's loud, angry, and/or angsty.

So, hello, I'm Jen. I suffer from manic depression, social phobia, avoidant personality disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder.

Wow! So much has changed this past year, and this section was completely out of date. I'm no longer a social recluse. I've made some wonderful friends, including my boyfriend, who is the most amazing person I've ever met; everyone is completely supportive, and they've really changed my life, and saved me from myself.

The depression and anxiety are hardly problems anymore. I'm still out of school and don't have a job, but I know I'm ready to get back to it, though I still don't have much motivation.

But I've never enjoyed life as much as I do now; I never really knew I could enjoy life this much; it seems like every day is better than the last; it's all a bit surreal.

And thanks to everyone from this site who has supported me through this! You guys are great!

I'm very much looking forward to working through my problems, and really getting my life in order.
