Im slowly coming to the realization that everyday is a battle!!! I need some advice on natural remedies to help my anxiety and also some tips on how to go on with my life. How do you hold down a job with anxiety? How do you get up and out feeling sick just from your anxiety? How do you not let your anxiety stop you from doing what you need to do to better yourself? I'm stuck in a cycle where my anxiety controls everything and I'm tired of it!!! Are there any books out there that can help me relax? I know its mind over matter but matter is definitely winning right now : /

I have been doing alot of CBT exercises with my therapist lately that are aiming at reducing the anxiety so here are some tips:

-deep breathing. Use your diaphram to breathe. Which means your stomach will expand out as you inhale and constrict as you inhale.
-acceptance. You have to stop fighting the anxiety because it only fuels it. Accept that this is how you are feeling now and know that you are going to get through it.
-positive self talk. I literally say out loud to myself when I feel my anxiety starting to build "this is just my anxiety, I am fine, its just the anxiety it has happened before and I have always been fine and I am going to fine now too". Training your mind to have positive thoughts instead of negative thoughts and worry will help alot.

I'm still learning myself but that is what I got so far. Just try to stay positive and know that this is going to get better. Seeing a therapist might be a good idea as well.

Break the cycle!

Hi my name is Tatyana...I am brand new to this site. I know exactly how you are feeling, because i am in exactly the same boat. I suffer from major depression, constant anxiety, panic attacks and lately i been suicidal. I been taking meds and seeing a therapsit but nothing helps. I work as an interpreter where I have to be around people all the time, and thats not easy at all. I get up from day and ask God for strengh to get through another day. I feel like i dont live, I exist.
I was recommended a book " Vaporize your anxiety without drugs or therapy" by Tom Stone, however I just cant concentrate when I read. Maybe it can help you. I heard it helped people before. Good luck!!!

Nice blog. I know all about that cycle. The best natural remedy is as simple as joining a site like this. You'd be suprised at how much of a difference joining a site like this can make.

Hi there,

I have been reading Mindful Acceptance. A workbook for people suffering from anxiety. Take care, things will get better.

those are some powerful questions.. and deserve some real answers. i use lavender a lot, in tea and i'll vaporize the stuff sometimes. i grew it so i know its all natural. ive been lifting lately and the endorphin makes a huge difference in how my 'demons' get at me. one day at a time. just like the 12steps. if you look at anxiety as an addiction i think it helps fight it. do whatever it takes. its SUCH a battle.

"How do you not let your anxiety stop you from doing what you need to do to better yourself?"

Well for me i think about it like this: its not gonna get better on its own. i know thats a cliche but theres more truth to that than fiction. for me i just, made the decision to confront the problem than succumb to it. and i did it with baby steps. i don't what your anxiety is but mine is social anxiety. so for me, i went to places like the mall, the grocery store, wal mart etc. places i knew there would be a lot of people and got comfortable. then upgraded to actually talking to people, then trying to make friends. so try and take baby steps to better yourself. it sounds like an overplayed statement but it actually works.

good luck and God bless you. -nick
