Dear Katie,

I hope that you managed well during your exam. I wanted to write you a note here, because I totally disagree with the comments made by Felicity69. She is acting like a bully. I' m disappointed in what she said and there's no place for that here. I'm a bit more empathetic as are other members. And you know what, Katie? I was always panicky in classes, too. The best thing to do is focus on the test. Take a couple of deep breaths (in thru your nose, hold a couple of secs and exhale thru your mouth). Deep breaths reset your system and bring calm. Relax and tackle the test. Take your time. I'm sure you will do well. I don't know you yet, but I'd like to, since this mirrors a time I experienced as well. You need support and a couple of the other members are also behind you. We want you to do well, because this is one baby step in getting past the anxiety. With each step, you can be proud of yourself. These accomplishments will stack up and in no time you will be so much better. Also, if the feelings happen, tell yourself they will pass. It's only anxiety. Focus on what you're trying to accomplish. You know the material. If need be, can you sit by the door? Can you keep a bottle of water on the desk? That will help, too. I ALWAYS carry water with me. People don't care or pay attention to what others do, really. They may have anxiety as well. I used to think they did, but don't worry about them. I'd like to know what happened and how you felt. If need be and should more tests come up, we can prep for them from a mental standpoint. Contact me anytime. I'm John. Read my profile.
