Peer support for agoraphobia and panic attacks
This group is for anyone who currently has or is in recovery from agoraphobia. Agoraphobia differs from each person. To say, "we fear the marketplace" is very misleading. Symptoms can be issues regarding driving, flying, being alone, being in crowds, leaving the home, shopping just to name a few. Agoraphobia can be with or without panic attacks. As you can see agoraphobia, in some cases, overlaps social anxiety, GAD, panic attacks. I am a person who had agoraphobia most of my life, with small periods of recovery. The documentation women are more likely to have agoraphobia. What I have found in many support groups that there are just as many men. Men tend to use or compensate for their agoraphobia. Sometimes their are "fine lines" with social anxiety, GAD, panic attacks. I have met people who have totally recovered from agoraphobia!
