I havent been to the dentist in a couple of years, because the last time I went

when I look back I had what I think was a small panic attack in the chair, and I started crying and I just wanted him to hurry up and get done so I could get out of there.

Well the dentist wanted to know what as going on and i told him I didnt feel good and he said "no dont tell me allergies" and he was like what are you symptoms, and I was like no I am fine I just want to go.

Well you dont put ideas in a person with anxiety because then that is all they fret about, so its been 2 years or more since I have been back to see him

Now I have a couple teeth that need work done or even pulled and I dont want to go back to see him so i am looking for a new dentist but I also have the anxiety that he gave me about the thought of reacting to something.

Help anyone have this happen or these feeling about the dentist or any suggestions for me

Lots of people are scared of dentists, my mum is absolutely petrified and has been since she was a little kid. So when a family friend qualified to be a dentist my mum decided to go and see her cause she thought she might not be so scared because she knows her but she still freaked out so the dentist friend signed her to a special service which deals with people who are scared of the dentist. She said it is really good because the dentist she sees there is super nice and she explains everything, checks you are ok constantly, stops anytime you need to and just basically is this super calming person. My mum thinks she is fantastic. You should try searching for a specialist dentist like this as it may help you as they deal with people getting upset or scared all the time and are amazing.
