I remember hearing that your 30's are the time of your life, and that is when you really sink into your skin. I however turned 31 on April 30th, and havent had a decent nights worth of sleep that hasnt involved a raging panick attack since. <~~~~ Yea this is me right now... sitting on the edge of my bed crying. Im trying not to wake the Hubby up because...well... he is sick of it. Who could blame him? Im freaking sick of this inner irrationalism! I wish I could be like I was 5 years ago. Sorry Im ranting. Sooo Ive noticed through the last five years my anxiety symptoms have morphed into different sypmtoms??? Has this happend to any of you?? When I first started with attacks I would have chest pains, shortness of breath, numbness in my extremities, but now lately its been shortness of breath, and the feeling of my throat closing, and heart racing... ughhhhhh

Thanks for your words of concern, and advice. I am currently not seeing a therapist due to lack of insurance. My primary prescribes me Ativan, that I love... so I try not to take it...lol. Thanks for the exercise Lenasara! I really hate the new sypmtoms!! Throat closing with rushes of adrenaline really freak the sh*t outta me!

Yes, I have experienced those horrible feelings too. I've thought I'm having a heart attack or something, so I panic even more. My therapist also keeps reminding me of deep and slow breathing. Stomach out when you inhale and in when you exhale. Hope you have a better night tonight!

Mornings are the worst for me, because for whatever reason I cannot get my bearings. I usually feel like a giant gorilla is sitting on my chest-so much pressure! I also get what I refer to as a wave which sweeps over my face prior to a full scale panic attack. The meds help, but when it comes to the skills I have learned from my therapist, I forget them. We will all overcome this stuff eventually. We need to remember to take things a day at a time. My therapist always reminds me about breathing. Not the shallow stuff, but where you inhale and let your stomach grow...Inhale the positives and exhale the negatives...

Bless you!

I have all of the same symptoms that you have described. I have a stretch that i do for the throat closing feeling, I open my mouth big, tilt my head back, then close my mouth this helps me realize my tension and know that i am not really choking....Mornings are hard for me also, I wake up scared for no reason but the day usually improves from that point. I hope you find peace today!
