So Scared

I was getting better. I went on Zoloft, and my anxiety was magically gone. No more panic attacks, no more freezing at every little noise. I could walk down dark hallways, go into the basement, answer the phone when I was home alone...

And now I'm really scared because it's been a few months and the anxiety is coming back. I feel scared again. Sometimes I hear noises and think "What if someone's in the house?" I thought those fears were gone. Sometimes I feel anxious for no reason at all. The other day I almost had a panic attack.

What do I do?

Definitely go to a doctor and then maybe a psychiatrist. Your meds might not be right for you, or you might need a combo. I hope you feel better soon! xx

I am still on the Zoloft and feeling anxiety.
Also, I see a psychologist for therapy and a psychiatrist for meds. I think the two of them might be out of sync, and maybe I should look into finding one person who does both.

Curious if you saw a mental health professional along with the drug therapy. For me, Zoloft took the "edge" off of the lows and anxiety, but anxiety and depression was definitely still a part of my life. The drug therapy was just a tool to help me function while I tried to address my issues.

Are you still on Zoloft and feel anxiety coming back? If so, you might want to ask your doc about switching to something else. In the meantime, watch a favorite tv show or even just pick up the phone and call a friend..even the slightest diversion will help heal the anxiety a bit. I usually call my mom when I am anxious and ask her about her day and sometimes it is nice to hear about someone else and it gets your attention focused on something instead of the racing thoughts :)
