It really pisses me off when people say to me "Well, you could change it if you wanted to". Like are you serious? I want nothing more than to change it. And I am trying. A friend of mine asked me today if maybe I was "not getting better" because I liked the attention?!?!?! WTF are you kidding me?! I'd much rather have zero attention and no anxiety any day. Besides, having panic disorder does not get you anymore attention than it does when you're "normal". The only difference is you have to pay a sh*tload for your therapy, meds, or whatever you need to get through it. I had to work out hard after that and I'm still pissed. Maybe after dinner I'll feel better. xo~J

I have had a lot of issues with my friends lately too. I've only had anxiety problems for 8 months, and there's one girl in particular (whom I've been best friends with for 11 years) who is just starting to show her true colors. She's even said I'm just being melodramatic and I need to get over it... I want to punch her in the face. I would LOVE to "just get over it" like it's a frakkin' cold.

I agree with blewis- Screw em! They have no idea how much it would suck to live with this day after day.

You hit the nail on the head. Once after getting close to a previous boss of mine I told her about my disorder and she spats "oh come on all that stuff is just in your head." I literally wanted to b*tch her out but I just said obviously you don't understand. People are clueless. If they felt it for a second they would understand. I say screw those short sighted people!

LOL That advise is like telling someone that they could be a millionair if they wanted to. Its not that simple.

Its so hard to deal with those people because we feel so isolated. We know we are not alone but the people around us who might have anxiety too don't broadcast it.

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a sort of code we could use to find each other?LOL That way we could hang out with other peopel in our area like us.

i totally understand what you said and whoever said that is a f@cking idiot. really tho... change if we wanted to?? the kind of pain we feel and the sh*t we go though on a daily basis is something we want?? I certainly don't feel that the attention i get because of my anxiety makes me feel any better, i feel its more embarrassing than anything else, everyone else around me has a lot going on too and when i have my anxiety i feel like I'm burdening them with my problems too. I would give anything in the world for a life without this disorder and without having to be heavily medicated. i personally dont take meds for mine so when it comes i just have to deal. But im right there with you on that... kinda pissed me off too. lol no worries tho do what you can to get through it. Stay positive!
