Hi all. Just a quick question - my close friend has been suffering from exhaustion and bad memory loss recently and has just taken a blood test for Thyroid probs. She is dating and her boyfriend has told her that it is more likely to be Bi polar as she goes from extremes (i.e impulsive requests to do things/butterfly mind/can live in a dream world) -I do agree with the things her BF says but she is in a panic as it's something her old BF once said which she refuted at the time. She won't go and talk about it to the Doc cos she is worried about the stigma but also feels it's odd that they have both seriously said this to her. I can see both sides. She does go from one extreme to the other, when she is on a roll she's great to be around as she really makes people feel on top of the world with her positivity and enthusiam but when she is down can spend a week under a duvet not talking to anyone..so I don't really know what to suggest to her? Any help, gratefully accepted!

She needs to see a doctor. I worked with someone that had bipolar. they didn't get diagnosed for some time and it caused her all kinds of problems at work and in life. If she does have bipolar it is best to get treatment now and start improving. That really is the only choice. Her health needs to come first. Try to get her to see a doctor.
