Been put on new meds

Went to see the doc on thursday afternoon and she put me on 20 mgs of Citalopram to be taken every morning,as i was starting to go down.I took the meds at 7 am and by 9am i was totaly disorienated ,felt drugged up to the eyeballs and the fear and panic that i felt was just ripping out of me .
Ispent the day feeling totaly paranoid and wondering if i had made the right choice ,i have been like that when i was put on Seroxat about 8 years ago and i was waking up with panic attacks in the middle of the night. Anyway the next day i decided to take 10 mls in the morning and 10 at night ,but i still felt so tight in the head and nervous and paranoid,couldnt go outside as i thought i would have a panic attack ,it felt as though all the hard work i had done staying sober and off drugs had been in vain,i would have done anything to have a drink or take 50mls of vallium. just to take the pain away. Anyway i didnt drink or take any drugs because i know where that used to take me.
On the sunday i decided to just take 10mls at night and nothing in the morning and this is monday and i dont feel so bad. I have such a sensitive brain when it comes to psyco drugs and would be interested to know if anybody else has had a bad reaction to new meds.TAKE CARE
